- If we haven't Spanish bullfighting, and Spanish culture will be one less.
- Some people was really like Spanish bullfighting, if we didn't have that, they were be angry.
Hi Lance and welcome to the summer learning journey! We are so thrilled that you have joined us this summer. It's wonderful! I particularly like the image of the airplane that you posted as the backdrop to this blog. Did you know that you are the first student to register for the Summer Learning Journey from your school? That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI really hope that others students will take your lead and hop online and blog just like you are! I also hope that you will continue to post great blogs and learn a lot about Canada as you go. It is actually my home country. I'm from Ottawa :)
I will look forward to blogging with you over the rest of the holiday period. Have a very safe and merry Christmas tomorrow.
See you online!!!
Cheers,
Rachel
Hi Lance,
ReplyDeleteIf you're travelling to Canada at this time of year you'll need to pack some warm clothes, because it can get very cold there! Depending on where you go in Canada it can get down to -30 degrees. Now THAT'S cold! Canada is a bilingual country with many people speaking both English and French. What other languages can you speak? I wish I could speak more than one language, that would be really cool.
Thank you for sharing your opinion about bullfighting. I like that you are so respectful of different cultures and traditions in other countries. During bullfighting, Matadors (the bullfighters) face very dangerous risks, many are injured and some even die. But what happens that isn't as widely publicised is that the bulls are mistreated extremely badly leading up to and during the fight. This is done to weaken the bulls senses and strength before and during the fight to give the matador an advantage. Is it really fair to treat animals this way for the sake of entertainment? It's a tricky question!
When travelling through new countries, it's important to keep an open mind and experience as many of their traditions and cultures as possible. But it is still very important to make our own decisions about what is right and what is wrong - especially when animals and people are getting hurt!
I hope that you get the chance to go to Wellington one day soon. It is a beautiful city with a really interesting culture. I like your idea to visit Zealandia and Space Place, that sounds fun :-) Have you ever been to the Stardome in Cornwall Park?
Keep up the awesome blogging Lance.
Dan.
